1. What can a creativity coach do for me that all those books on creativity can’t?
Available books on the market are excellent sources of information and inspiration. For some, these kinds of books are a great impetus; for others, more personal attention is desired.
I can offer that kind of PERSONAL ATTENTION to you! As you DISCUSS
with me your feelings, thoughts and needs to express them, I can GUIDE you through the strategic stages, help you refine your thoughts and feelings and give you FEEDBACK on your progress.
Hearing each other’s voice on the telephone in order to exchange these creative ideas is something that books cannot offer.
Each of the three strategies is divided into 3 sessions mainly because it takes most people time to learn how to just listen and experience their environment – internal and external. The first week of each strategy is devoted to IDENTIFYING environmental sensations, perceptions, images, feelings, etc. The second week of each strategy is utilized for GATHERING personal meanings attached to these stimuli and the third week of each strategy is focused on ORGANIZING the information obtained through this self-probing process.
If you believe that you can portray, present and package your thoughts and feelings in less than the 9 suggested sessions, there is an option for you. You can choose a 2 hr. Intensive Session that would – at the very least – help you discover an initial “voice” for what you want to communicate.
If you would like additional sessions, we can discuss your needs and personalize your program to meet these needs.
3. What are the main advantages of working with you as my coach?
Given my background in psychology, counseling and education, I believe myself to be a good listener and a good communicator. The advantage of having a personal coach lies in the fact that your expressions are heard by me, they are responded to, you are given feedback, encouragement and support during the process of finding your unique way of communicating what you are experiencing.
I am not a critic; I do not have a pre-conceived or snobbish idea of what is creative; I do not judge your expressions or your chosen medium for those expressions. I help facilitate what you want to communicate.
4. I’ve never written or drawn much, and wonder if your creativity coaching is for me?
You do not need to be an established artist, of any kind. In fact, this program is a dynamic opportunity for the fledgling creative spirit, because it will assist you in finding your initial, inner, creative voice and discovering the joy of presenting it in a format that is satisfying to you and informative for others, as well.
All you need is your desire to put into words or imagery what you are thinking and feeling, sensing and perceiving. And who knows where this might then lead????
5. I’m a very busy person with a full schedule and wonder if creating coaching is for me?
Because this strategy helps people focus on their senses, thoughts and feelings, a busy person with a full schedule might very well benefit from just this very thing: slowing down – at your chosen time – to “smell the roses”, so to speak.
In addition, your scheduled activities will also provide you with the material about which you might want to communicate. Day to day events are filled with “miracles” and wonders; we tend to speed through them. This program will help you focus on the nuances of what seems to be “just” busy, daily life rituals and routines.
Everything we do can provide material for our focus.
In the course of our lifetime, we are encouraged to study all sorts of topics. We go to school, we enroll in various kinds of trainings, and we enhance our careers by learning the latest ways and means of doing our jobs better.
What better topic, in which to invest, is there beside YOU! Why not study yourself, explore your ideas and your abilities in communicating these ideas? You, your thoughts and feelings are priceless.
And, once again, who knows where your creative efforts might lead?
You just might discover a hidden talent that not only allows self-expression but might also foster a lucrative means of communicating with others. You won’t know, until you try.
